I recommend putting your names on the waitlist to avoid traffic. Everything on the menu is pretty much spot on! Our favorite is their cucumber salad and spring beans. If there’s anything-the Kimchi dumplings tho- I think it could’ve been better. Our server was Cuong and he did a great job.

Not that DTF needs another review, but here we are! We had reservations, booked several weeks in advance. We were immediately seated and greeted by Noelle. The restaurant is bustling and although they accommodate loads of guests, it did feel a little stuffy and tight in some of the dining areas. Luckily, we were in a booth. Everything we ordered was amazing. The dipping sauce is top notch. The spicy wontons and the green beans were my favorite. The Xiao Long Bao were good, but to be honest I feel Shanghai Saloon has a leg up on their steamed soup dumplings. The fried rice was a fluffy and tender texture, but it could’ve used a little bit more salt. Overall, it was an excellent meal, all shareable plates, great service, food came out quickly, I highly recommend!

I was expecting this place to be overrated but I was so wrong. It was incredible! The seating and service is so efficient. We were seated right on time. Macy was out server and she was excellent! Every staff member is knowledgeable and friendly. She checked in with us and never made us feel rushed. Now for the food - I loved everything but I will be dreaming about the chicken wontons, pepper beef, and chocolate dumplings with salted cream! The string beans,noodles with sesame sauce and dumplings were really good too. You have to experience it for yourself.

Finally tried Din Tai Fung after hearing so much hype about it, and honestly it completely lived up to expectations. We joined the waitlist for almost 2 hours, but after eating there, I can genuinely say it was worth the wait. Everything we ordered was amazing and tasted super fresh. The pork soup dumplings were the standout — easily 100/10. The Schezwan noodles were flavorful with the perfect amount of spice, the beef tenderloin was super tender, and even the martini was great. MUST try their shaved snow w/ fresh mango desert as well Our server was David & service was fast and organized despite how busy it was, and the whole experience felt worth it from start to finish.Since this was our first hime, David explained all the menu & history of this place. Definitely a place I’d come back to again.

This was our first time at the San Diego location but not new to DTF. Just a FYI, you don’t need to make a reservation like a month in advance. This isn’t fine dining or omakase. We went on a Monday night and it was unusually busy for a week night. We had to wait a couple hours. If it was on a Friday-Sunday, I would understand but on a Monday, really? We ordered sea salt cream iced teas, kurobuta pork xiao long bao, tofu puff & glass noodle soup, chicken dumplings, spicy & kurobuta pork spicy wontons, and Shanghai rice called with shrimp. The ones I didn’t go into detail on, I had them multiple times at other locations. They are consistent. Service was great. Overall, I would give 4 out of 5. -sea salt iced teas 4 - these were decent. I think it was more of a one time thing since I never saw this at the other locations. -kurobuta pork xiao long bao 5 -tofu puff & glass noodle soup 5 - this was new to us. I didn’t see this at the Vegas location. The glass noodles had a nice crew, difficult to cut though if you’re sharing. I liked drinking the broth. The pork rolls and sponge tofu puffs were delicious.
